KML - Keyhole Markup Language

A file format used to display geographic data in an Earth browser such as Google Earth, Google Maps, and Google Maps for mobile. 

This is used in FalconView.  


This is an open standard maintained by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).

Allows pinpointing of locations, adding of image overlays, and exposing rich data.
